About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant Convoy Street culinary corridor of San Diego, Jeong Won BBQ Buffet offers an inviting gateway to the rich flavors and communal spirit of Korean barbecue. This all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue restaurant stands out by blending a vast selection of premium meats and fresh ingredients with a casual, self-serve dining style that food lovers will appreciate.

At Jeong Won, the star of the experience is undoubtedly the quality and variety of meats available. From decadently marbled Wagyu beef to tender marinated sirloin and succulent short ribs, each slice is prepared to indulge your senses. The grill sizzles with endless options, inviting diners to develop their own perfect char and flavor. Beyond beef, the selection is refreshingly diverse: grilled seafood and fish fillets add oceanic depth, while vegetables such as tofu, potato noodles, and pickled offerings provide layers of balance and contrast.

A truly memorable touch is the extensive "sauce buffet," a treasure trove of flavors that adds personal flair to every bite. Whether you crave spicy, tangy, or savory nuances, this spread ensures that your palate never tires of subtle variations. The Japchae glass noodles and kimchi complement the barbecue beautifully, adding texture and brightness to each meal. For those seeking traditional Korean beverages, Jeong Won’s pineapple soju and soothing oolong tea enhance the authenticity of the dining experience, even though alcohol service is limited to non-alcoholic fountain drinks.

The atmosphere at Jeong Won BBQ Buffet is both cozy and upbeat—perfect for casual get-togethers, family dinners, or a relaxed date night. The self-serve setup empowers guests to pick and choose exactly what they want, unhindered by portion limits or rushed service. This freedom has clearly won over many patrons, with reviews praising not just the food quality but also the friendly, attentive staff who ensure every guest feels welcome and well-informed.

One customer, Maddie Hiltner, expressed delight in the spotless cleanliness and the impeccable service, highlighting how the self-service model elevates the dining experience by letting guests control their journey from grill to plate. Another diner, Derick Foster, emphasized the accommodating nature of the menu, noting that Jeong Won caters thoughtfully to diverse dietary preferences—from vegetarian to keto to gluten-free—making it a rare and versatile choice for a buffet setting.

Of course, no place is flawless. Some have noted that the grills can stick at times and a few cuts of meat might be less tender than expected, points that hang lightly against an otherwise positive dining adventure. Yet these minor critiques are outweighed by the overall enthusiasm expressed by regulars and first-timers alike, who praise the relaxed atmosphere void of time pressure, encouraging leisurely, indulgent meals filled with multiple rounds of grilling and sampling.

Jeong Won BBQ Buffet is more than just a Korean restaurant; it’s an experience where vibrant flavors merge with warm hospitality. Whether you're a seasoned BBQ lover or exploring Korean cuisine for the first time, Jeong Won invites you to savor the rhythm of communal grilling, flavorful sauces, and fresh ingredients in a welcoming, no-fuss environment. For those seeking variety, quality, and an authentic taste of Korea’s beloved barbecue culture in San Diego, this spot promises a genuinely satisfying feast.

Fairly good food. I have had better, but this is not bad for the price and what you can do being it's all you can eat with self serve. Sad news is they don't serve alcohol, and some of the meats were not as tender as they could be for the cuts I selected. The banchan selection was pretty good, and the sauces were so numerous I almost suffered decision paralysis. The grills do stick a lot and over burn some of the meats being they're not oiled prior to use, so I had to get mine changed about 5 times just by myself. The hostess/server was very nice and on top of grill changes and serving my tea and other needs. I may return, but I'm going to check out other locations for comparison.

This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Food was delicious, everything was super clean and fresh, service was impeccable. One thing about this place is everything is self serve from drinks to food. I personally love this because most places that claim to be AYCE grab the meat for you and limit portion sizes. The meats, vegetables, sides, and sauces were all delicious. The entire restaurant and even the bathroom was clean and obviously taken care of. The young girl who was working was attentive, making sure to clear plates and offering grill changes when needed. Excellent service!!! Wish I could take this place back to the east coast with me ):

My husband and I had a great time here, it has a cozy and cute vibe. The food was so delicious too, we got up to get more four times! Shoutout to our server, Andres, who was so friendly and attentive the entire time. He made sure we had everything we needed and explained the food bar well, he added to the great experience. For the price, this place is beyond worth it. If you’re looking for delicious KBBQ with great service and a welcoming vibe, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Delicious all you can eat barbecue at Jeong Won! Loved the Wagyu and other beef the most, couldn’t get enough of it. Really relaxed vibe and like the all you can drink fountain drinks. The staff was great, very friendly and took the time to clearly explain things and checked on us often. Definitely recommend!

Very good place! I really enjoyed the experience, great variety, fresh ingredients and best of all “No time pressure”. Very friendly customer service overall. The best part of this place is that it can accommodate to your diet habits, either vegetarian, carnivore, keto, gluten free etc. Super recommended.

Wow brings you back to home with the quality and service. They consistently asked to change the grill plates. Made sure our plates were cleared and was just overall attentive! The quality of meats and seafood was excellent. The lamb and wagyu was mouth watering. The side dishes was plenty, fresh, and delicious.

Fabulous little gem that our family discovered while having a celebratory dinner. We had just finished up a jiujitsu tournament and adults and kids ventured to this awesome restaurant to refuel. My kids are 7 and 6 and pretty picky eaters. I was a bit worried what they would eat. Well, this place is so family friendly... let me tell you why! We got a wide assortment of meats for the adults and the marinated wagyu, bulgogi, chicken and bacon for the kids. The kids loved cooking their own food on the table top grill. The loved being their little chefs. They munched the rice, grilled broccoli, and carrots and chased it all down with some miso soup. The adults were well-fed with he beautiful assortment of veggies and accoutrements. We loved that we could help ourselves to the food! The service was stellar. The wait staff graciously tended to our large party and changed the grates quite often and really tended to every person in our group. Bravo on a wonderful spot with great welcoming vibes and showing us new comers what the experience is all about! Our picky eater kids are like champs and can't wait to come back!
